At Western Hospital, Alberton, Friday, June 29, of Gerald Edgar Shaw, O’Leary, aged 80 years, dear husband of Freda (MacAusland). Born in Haliburton June 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Edward and Annie (Sinclair) Shaw. Dear father to Leigh (Bertha), Cape Wolfe; Brian (Linda), Okotoks, Alta.; Beverley (Eric Clements), Mill River; Cindy Donahue, Dock Road; Sherry (Wayne ) Donahue, Brockton and Cathy Shaw, Coleman. Loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Dear brother to Reagh (Glenys) Shaw, O’Leary. Brother-in-law of Vera Shaw, B.C.; Marion Shaw, O’Leary; Betty (Milburn) MacKinnon, Summerside; Hazel (Charles) Harris, Cornwall; Shirley (Bob) Matheson, O’Leary, Hatfield MacAusland, O’Leary; Nancy (Glen ) Betts, Glenwood; Roland (Delores) Phillips, BC and Ralph MacWilliams, Cornwall. Also survived by Aunts Hazel Dignan, Charlottetown and Helen Gillcash, O’Leary. Predeceased by parents, son Randy and brothers Reg, Glen, Lorne, Boyd and sister Gladys.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Sunday, July 1, 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow in the Peoples Cemetery, Mount Royal. In memory of Gerald, memorials to People’s Cemetery or Western Hospital-Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
