Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Monday, July 2, 2012, Cal Gilbert of Victoria, age 83 years. Predeceased by parents: Walter and Stella Gilbert; brothers: Freeman and Neil; sisters: Mae, Eileen and Mildred. Left to mourn, wife: Joan; one daughter: Krista Gilbert (Geoffrey Whalen), St. John’s; one son: Cally (Tina), Highlevel, AB; two step-grandchildren: Whitney and Lexie; one brother: Murley (Carrie), Fall River, NS; sister-in-law: Gwen Gilbert, Swift Current; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Fr. William Pearce conducted the funeral service on Thursday, July 5 from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL.
