STANLEY, MARJORIE VIVIAN - Marjorie Stanley, 86, of North Head, Grand Manan Island, passed away unexpectedly at the Grand Manan Hospital on Saturday, July 7th, 2012. Mrs. Stanley was born at North Head and was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Kochis) Zwicker of North Head. In her earlier years she was employed at the Bank of Nova Scotia, and then worked with her husband Harry in their business as the bookkeeper and was a devoted loving mother to her family. She was a member of the North Head Wesleyan Church where she was an accomplished pianist, choir member, Sunday school teacher, and spent endless hours in the flower gardens both at the church and at home. Besides all her accomplishments she loved to work on her artistic abilities as a painter. Marjorie will be missed by all who were fortunate to know and spend time with her. Mrs. Stanley is survived by two daughters Shelly (Wayne) Cook of North Head, Dorrine (Derek) Squire of Greenwood, N.S., two sons Jon (Leslie) Stanley of North Head, Michael (Diana) Stanley of Fredericton, one sister Ann Williams of Calais, Maine, eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 2008.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the North Head Wesleyan Church on Monday evening from 7 to 9 PM, from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2012, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jasper Rideout officiating, the interment will follow in the North Head Community Cemetery. Marjorie’s family has requested donations to the North Head Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of your choice.
