Donald Harry Anderson of Moose Jaw, formerly of Briercrest, SK, passed away on Tuesday July 3, 2012 at Pioneer Lodge, surrounded by his family. He fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Don was born July 9, 1933 to Peter and Mabel Anderson of Briercrest. He received his education and lived all his life there, taking over the family farm and farming for over 50 years. On November 27, 1971 he married Marie Huber and they started their family of two boys. He was proud of his boys, and they are farming now. In his retirement years Don and Marie enjoyed numerous bus tours meeting and making new friends. Don was a member of the International Chapter 38 IH Club and enjoyed doing wood work in his garage. He also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, and bike riding with the grandkids. He loved going to Tim Horton’s for coffee, and Saturday mornings at Johnstone’s Auction Mart visiting with his many friends and acquaintances. He enjoyed many shows at the Mae Wilson Cultural Centre, and to the “Concerts in the Park” with Marie. He is predeceased by his parents, one brother, two sisters, his father and mother-in-law, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Don is survived by his wife Marie; his two sons: Scott (Lindsey), and Kevin (Janine); his six precious grandchildren: Jayden, Brooklyn, Wynter, Zane, Breanne, and Jake; also his sisters: Agnes Ingleby, Lillian Wostradowski, Anne (Hank) Strandlund; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, Aunt Andrea, Aunt Florence, Aunt Ollie, cousins, and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial Tea will be held at the Eagles Club, 561 Home St. W, on Thursday July 12, 2012 from 2 – 4 pm, with a program at 2:30 pm. Donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Cancer Patient Lodge, 4104 Dewdney Ave., Regina, S4T 1A3, or to a charity of one’s choice.
