SCOTT, DOUGLAS - Douglas Gordon Scott passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital. He was born in Upham, N.B. the son of Gordon and Mary (Hosford) Scott. He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Seeley of Hampton, N.B., brother Lloyd Scott, grandson Scott Fraser and son-in-law Donnie Milburn. He is survived by his wife Verda Scott, Moncton, N.B., sister Alta Cooling, Alberta, sons, Frank Fraser (Grace) Shubenacadie, N.S., Douglas Scott, (Betty Ann) Upper Canard, N.S., and daughter Faye Milburn, Berry Mills, N.B., He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Frankie Fraser, Krista (Gerald) Forest, Stacey (Andy) Morrissey, Kevin (Leeann) Milburn, Nicholas (Jen), Jeremy, and Josh Scott, and nine great grandchildren; Ethan and Amber Forest, Riley and Emily Morrissey, Jordan and Tristan Fraser, Asher Scott, Chloe, Simone LeBlanc. He spent most of his career at the CNR and retired in 1986 after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Brotherhood of the Locomotive Engineers, The Corinthian Lodge #13, Hampton, N.B., Mountain View United Church, Past member of Charlie's Angels Dance Club and Hogans Heroes Square Dance Club. He was an exceptional family man, taking part in his children and grandchildren’s sports activities - golf, stock car racing, hockey, baseball, fishing and hunting. This provided many years of much loved entertainment for him.
A Memorial Service celebrating Doug's life will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
