June Theresa MacLeod (Jay) of St. Catharines, Ontario died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Garden City Manor.
Born in Mount Stewart, P.E.I., on June 9, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eunice Jay (MacIntyre).
June was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Joseph MacLeod; and brother Franklyn; and sisters, Leona MacDonald and Natalie Labelle.
She is survived by her children, Ian, Malcolm (Allyson), Alison, Leona and Donald (Birgitta); and by her grandchildren, Connor, Christopher, Olivia, Maxwell, Alex, Jaxson; and by her sister, Mary Patterson (Glen); and her brothers, Paul (Shirley), David (Dot), Kimble (Elsie), and by many friends.
In the late forties, June left P.E.I. and moved to Montreal where she worked at Reader's Digest. She married Arthur MacLeod in 1953 in Montreal, and from there, they made the first of many moves, criss-crossing the country until eventually settling in St. Catharines, Ontario, where June raised her family and worked at the Kmart until her retirement.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., July 21, at St. Andrew's Church in Mount Stewart.
