JAMIE DENGEL August 24, 1983 - July 8, 2008 Jamie Simon Dengel, age 24, of 100 Mile House died in the loving arms of his parents Simon and Debbie and fianc>>e Jessica on July 8, 2008. Jamie was born on August 24, 1983 and lived most of his life in 100 Mile House. Growing up, Jamie excelled in both academics and sports and upon graduation, achieved his goal of attaining "Excellence in Sports and Recreation 12". In addition, Jamie was awarded three scholarships. Jamie moved to Kamloops but stayed in touch with many friends from 100 Mile and often returned home to visit. Last Christmas, Jamie became engaged to Jessica Pirc but their wedding plans were put on hold when Jamie was told that the ocular cancer he had successfully battled at age 14 had returned, this time in his liver. Jamie fought his second battle with cancer with courage and bravery and never gave up on finding a miracle. Jamie is survived by very devoted and loving parents Simon and Debbie; brother Sean, who will miss Jamie more than words can say; Sean's girlfriend Amanda and Jessica Pirc, his fianc>>e who loved Jamie with her whole heart. Jamie is also survived by grandparents Jim and Pat Fleming (Richmond, B.C.), and Simon and Agnes Dengel (Vernon, B.C.), along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving members of his extended family. Thank you to everyone who enriched Jamie's life with your love and guidance over the years. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported Jamie and his family through these difficult last few months. Jamie was blessed with many friends and he valued each and every friendship. Jamie was a young man with a lot of integrity and compassion with a winning smile, loving spirit and a wonderful sense humour. He will be remembered forever with love and affection. A Celebration of Life for Jamie will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 26, 2008 at 100 Mile Baptist Church, located at 105 Mile on the corner of Highway 97 and Tatton Station Road. There will be time to share Jamie's memory following the Celebration of Life, at the same location. A scholarship will be established at Peter Skene Ogden School in Jamie's memory.
