Formerly of Bell Island and retired Sears Employee. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on July 15, 2012 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family, William Vokey age 81 years. Son of the late William and Ethel Vokey. Predeceased by sister, Olive; brother, Selby; sons-in-law: Corbett Moores and Rev. Stephen Flower and brother-in-law, Chesley Brown. Left with cherished and loving memories are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Earle); his daughters: Marilyn Flower, Karen Butt (Ken); sons: Darroch (Bonnie), Colin (Beverley), Karl (Susan) and Keith (Pamela); 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Myrle (Marilyn); sister-in-law: Anita Vokey; brothers-in-law: Harold Earle (Esther), William Earle (Mabel); sister-in-law Joan Brown and many other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Westerland Road. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
