Amédée “Medée” Cormier

CORMIER, AMÉDÉE "MEDÉE" - Amédée “Medée” Cormier, 78, of Shediac, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Born November 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Willie and Catherine (Gallant) Cormier. Before his retirement, Amédée worked as a painter at #5 Supply Depot in Moncton. He will be sadly missed by his special friend, Auréa Leblanc of Shediac; six daughters: Beatrice Parlee (Wade), Sarah Cormier (Roger), Jeanita and Yvette (Mike Léger) all of Shediac, Regina Mathews (Schmit Bourque) of Lakeburn and Jeanette (Eric) of Dieppe; three sisters: Phyllis and Thérèse both of Shediac and Jeanita (Jim) of Toronto; three brothers: Laurie (Estelle), Hervé (Yvette) and Jean (Liliane) all of Shediac; former wife, Aline (Fougère) Cormier of Shediac; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sons: Willie, Omer and Roland; one grandson, Terrance and one brother, Emery.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac, on Friday July 20, 2012 at 11:15 a.m. In memory of Amédée, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated.
