COBBE: Aleatha Marguerite Cobbe nee Moulding was born on October 17, 1921 on the farm in Abernathy Saskatchewan and passed away on July 16, 2012 in St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 90 years. Aleatha was the oldest of seven children born to Rena and Fred Moulding. Aleatha married George Cobbe on April 7, 1945 and spent most of her life as a cattleman’s wife as George worked for the PFRA. Aleatha and George lived at Limerick, Goodwater, Val Marie and Cadillac, after mom suffered an aneurysm she moved to Pike Lake to live with Susan and Paul and then later to Central Haven Nursing home in Saskatoon. Aleatha enjoyed handicrafts and was and an avid card player or games of any sort. She loved to cook and her favorite thing to bake was cookies and there was always abundance at her house. At the age of 87 she was still baking her own bread, but you know she would tell me I have to freeze half a loaf as it doesn’t keep that long. She was predeceased by her parents; Rena and Fred Moulding, her husband George in 1997; sisters: Jane, Marjorie, Louise and Grace, brother-in-laws; Karl Ruzicka, Ken Cobbe, Rae Cobbe, Russell King, Eric McCaw and Joe Sabo, sister-in-law Rose Cobbe and son-in-law Rene Cornet. She is survived by her children: Maxine Cornet and friend Jerry Spence, Rosetown and her children Joni and Calvin Day and their children Clay and Brett of Kyle; Stacy and Lisa and their children Jordyn and Colt, of Brandt, AB; Tyler and Audree and their children Emma, Sam and Ben, Fiske. Susan and Paul Maffenbeier of Saskatoon and their children: Nancy and James Leroy and their son Grayson, Eastend; Sandra Maffenbeier and Odie, of Saskatoon; Jamie and Sharman and their children Cassidy and Alyssa, of Hoosier. Aleatha’s sister Audrey King of Irricana, AB and brother Dick and Dianna Moulding of Regina, Sister-in-laws Hazel Ruzicka of Limerick, SK; Marg Cobbe of Swift Current and Dean Cobbe of Mortlach, brother-in-law Henry Ficke of West Bank, BC. She also has several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. A very special thank you to all that helped with mom’s care the last few months and during her hospital stay. Thanks also to all the friends and family for their support and thoughtfulness.
