JORGENSON – Astrid - It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Astrid Jorgenson on July 13, 2012 at the age of 104. Astrid was predeceased by her husband Sigvald Jorgenson in 1987, oldest daughter Eleanor Strand in 1989, son Stan Jorgenson in 2012, son in laws George Strand in 1975 and George Yolland in 1997. She leaves to mourn her daughters Alfie Yolland (Swift Current) and Marilyn (Mert) Anderson (Swift Current). Grandchildren: Ron (Kathy) Strand (Calgary), Bryan (Alex) Strand (Calgary), Barb ( Mike) Peters (Calgary), Don ( Wendy) Yolland (Swift Current), Diane ( Rod) Berreth (Strathmore, AB), Louise Meers (California), Bevi (Shaun) Herron (Regina), Lori ( Rod) Dueck (Waldeck), Kari (Paul) Hackett (Hermantown, Minnesota). Great Grandchildren: Rebecca ( John) Bowman (Calgary), Rocky and Layla Strand (Calgary), Karly and Jordyn Peters (Calgary), Dean (Cheri) Yolland (Swift Current), Cody and Randi Yolland (Swift Current), Ashley, Sydney and Kelly Berreth (Strathmore, AB), Teneille and Taylor Herron (Regina), Sarah (Blair) (Rosetown), Scott (Rosetown), Matthew, Justin and Shaelyn Dueck (Waldeck), Paige, Hope, Tyler, Parker, Tanner and Belle Hackett (Hermantown, Minnesota). Great Great Grandchildren: Veronica Bowman (Calgary), Charlie Yolland (Swift Current), Wyatt and Harlow Oesch (Rosetown). Nieces: Marj (Jim) Burnett (Regina), Laverne (Chuck) Hodgson (Weyburn), Margot Tretterud (Norway), Nephews: Knut and Gunnar Rustad (Norway). Astrid was born February 17, 1908 in Norway. She will be remembered for her great cooking and baking. She loved to have a big garden and always had lots of flowers inside and out. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends in later years. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church in Swift Current on Tuesday, July 17 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Olaf’s Building Fund or SPCA. Arrangements in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home.
