It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen Gaglio at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Friday, July 20, 2012.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late James and Theresa (Slaunwhite) Burke.
She was employed as a personal-care worker with New Dawn. Kathleen with be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Glenn (Meg) Nowe, New Jersey, USA; partner, Donnie Sampson; stepdaughters, Morah, Debbie, both of Sydney, and Kelly, Coxheath; her sisters, Theresa McCormick, Mississauga, Ont., Sally (Tom) Rogers, Spruce Grove, Alta., numerous grandchildren; nieces, Cheryl and Rachael, Ontario, Barbara, Sydney, and nephews, Darrell, Alberta, John David, all of Sydney.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, David Burke and nephew, Neal Tomie.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
