It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Frances Boutilier on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius (Dee) and Edith (MacDonald) MacIntosh.
Frances was an avid reader and bingo player and enjoyed her Friday night darts, was very creative artistically and her paintings are proof of that.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Raymond Boutilier; son, Allie (Sandra); daughter, Heather MacLeod; grandchildren, Holly (Trent) and Christian and great-granddaughter, Blake; sisters, Josephine ‘Dodo’ Hopkins (Glenn), Port Morien, Catherine ‘Bookie’ MacComber (Roy), Catalone, and Helen Robinson, Montreal; brothers, Raymond (Vera) and Barry (Margie), both of Glace Bay; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Geraldine ‘Boots’ MacKinnon, Anna Abraham, Vicki Boutilier and brother-in-law, Joe Burke.
Besides her parents, Frances was also predeceased by her sister, Heather MacIntosh, mother and father in-law, Charlie and Nellie Boutilier, sister-in-law, Leona Burke and brothers-in-law, Russell Boutilier, Mustafa (Buddie) Abraham, Peter Mackinnon.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Frances’s life will be Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frances’s memory to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
