It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Jude (Sam) Cormier. Jude passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, August 4, 2012.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Aldric Leblanc and Helena Thibodeau.
Jude loved bowling, fishing, hunting, but most of all treasured being a family man.
Jude will be dearly missed by his wife Bertha of 65 years, his son Edgar (Betty) of Port Hood, Jude Jr. (Gloria) of Amherst, his daughter Judy (Duncan) of Amherst, Ronald (Norma) of Amherst, 7 grandchilden,17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a brother, Ron (Rose) Cormier of Amherst. Jude was predeceased by his sisters Dora and Evelyn, and brother Leon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St, Amherst, NS (667-9906). Visiting hours will be on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Driscoll officiating; burial to follow at the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery.
