MURRAY, George Donald – 64 It is with sad hearts that the family George Murray announce his passing on August 8, 2012 at the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou, with his family at his side. Born in Pictou, he was a son of the late Malcolm & Verna (Whitehead) Murray. George was known for his love of family and coffee, his excellent drywall skills, and the wealth of knowledge that he loved to share from the many books he read. He is survived by his wife and soul mate Janet (McIsaac); son, John; daughter Jenny (Wally Sperry) , both of Pictou; grandchildren, Cassandra and Dawson; brothers, John (Janet) Sackville, N.B.; Richard (Sandra) Paradise, NL; mother in law, Marguerite McIsaac, many McIsaac brother and sister in laws, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by brother, Roderick; sister, Noreen (Murray) McLean. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 PM Saturday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou from where funeral will be held at 2 PM on Sunday with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. The family would like to thank the staff at the Shiretown Nursing Home for their excellent care, compassion and love that was shown to George during his stay with them.
