Granton - Winona Roberta “Sally” Georgeson, age 92, formerly of Granton Road, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the Shiretown Nursing Home. Born in Westchester Station, she was a daughter of the late John William and Ola Belle (Newson) Wark. She was a retired teacher having taught most of her career in Alma and West Pictou. After retirement she travelled to places she taught and read about. She is survived by her son: Eric (Debby), Lyons Brook; daughter: Mary Ellen (Stuart) Ashman, Penhold, Alberta; grandchildren: Matthew, Chris and Melissa; one great grandson: Benjamin Georgeson; brother: Barry (Brenda) Wark, Granton. She was predeceased by brothers: Howard, Ronald and Keith Wark. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service 2 pm Monday in First United Baptist Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Randy Stanton officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. or a charity of choice.
