CARRUTHERS, PENELOPE "PENNY"- Penelope "Penny" Carruthers, 55, of Moncton, NB, passed away suddenly on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at her residence. Born on July 25, 1957 in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of Ralph and Claire (Young) Manuge of West Petpeswick, NS. Besides her parents, she is survived by three daughters: Rebecca Savoie (Jean-Pierre) of Moncton, NB, Erika Carruthers of Amherst, NS and Carly Carruthers (Victor Rudolph) of Whitehorse, YK; one son: Colin of Fredericton, NB; four sisters: Diane Nolet (Tonnie) of West Petpeswick, NS, Adele Evans (Aidan) of Halifax, NS, Christine Manuge (Kim Delong) of Amherst, NS, and Annemarie Manuge of Kuwait City; five brothers: Peter (Tammy) of Amherstview, ON, Jamie and Patrick (Claudette), both of Halifax, NS, Anthony (Rikki) of Prince George, BC, and Dennis (Tracy) of West Petpeswick, NS; three grandchildren: Benjamin, Gabriella and Mitchell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
By request, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be celebrated at the Community Peace Centre, 150 Queen Street, Moncton on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. In memory of Penny, a contribution to the Community Peace Centre or the United Way of Greater Moncton would be appreciated.
