Dorothy B. Clarke - 96, of Dartmouth where she resided with her daughter Faye and husband Chuck for 25 years. Dorothy was formerly of Kentville, she passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 surrounded by her family in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Waterville she was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Evans) Charlton. In her younger years she worked in canning factories and at Vin Cooke store in Waterville. After moving to Thunder Bay (Fort William, ON) in the early 1950’s she worked many years at Chappels Department Store. In the late 1970’s Dot and Ike moved to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and upon retirement they returned to Nova Scotia. Her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy as she watched them grow up and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was a member of Connaught Chapter No. 9 Order of Eastern Star and had received her 60 year pin of which she was very proud to wear. Dorothy is survived by two daughters Margaret Anne (George) Robertson, Thunder Bay, ON, and Faye (Chuck) Charlebois, Dartmouth; four grandchildren Karen (Danny) Barnwell, Dorchester, ON; David (Lori) Robertson, Thunder Bay, ON; Dale (Shelly) Robertson, Thunder Bay, ON; Dr. Paul (Natalie Morris) Charlebois (currently serving in Afghanistan) Dartmouth; six great grandchildren Tyler and Lauren Barnwell, Miranda and Haleigh Robertson, Brittany Robertson, and Samantha Knights; one brother John (Kathryn) Charlton, Berwick; cousin Mary (Pat) Carroll, Calgary, Alberta; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac A. Clarke; sisters Hettie Frizzell, Alice George; brothers William, Gordon, and Victor Charlton. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, and a reception followed in the funeral home. Reverend Leon Langille officiated. Burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
