At St Martha’s Hospital, Antigonish, N.S., on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, of Anita Belle Bernard (nee Labobe) of Lennox Island, age 73, wife of the late John Henry Bernard. Born in Tyne Valley on August 27, 1935, the daughter of the late Frank and Madeline (Knockwood) Labobe. Dear mother of Wendell (Cathy), Lennox Island; Edward, Lennox Island; Gloria Labobe, Charlottetown; Judy (Emmett) Peters, Paq’tnkek First Nation; James Wayne, Lennox Island; Patricia (Steve) Relton, Lennox Island; Sandra (Vincent) Basque, Paq’tnkek First Nation; John Jr (Donna), Lennox Island. Loving grandmother of 29 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. Sister of Betty Gauthier, Hardy Labobe, Donnie Labobe and George Labobe. Predeceased by her children, Patrick , Preston and Johnny in infancy, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sisters and brothers Pearline Gallant, Mary Jane Gallant, Peter, Roger, James Robert, Edward, Joe Pat, Raymond, Steven, Muriel Dalton and Lillian Saulnier. Forwarded from Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel to her home at 38 Oapos Trail, Lennox Island, for visiting hours on Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday until 10:15 a.m. and then to St Anne’s Church, Lennox Island, for mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
