We regret with sadness to announce the sudden passing of a dear sister, aunt and sister-in-law, Ursula McInnis, who passed away at the family home on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.
She was a life-long resident of Fraser Street, McKay's Corner.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Felicitas (McVarish) McInnis. Ursula was a faithful member of Holy Family parish and a valued member of the former ladies sodality and active in all parish affairs.
She will be sadly missed by her sister, Jo, with whom she resided at the family home, and her sister, Jackie McDougall, Wilmington, Mass.
GiGi, as she was affectionately known, will be missed dearly by her nephews and nieces, Kevin, Glen, Tim, Gary, Blaise, Michelle, Launa Beth, Ann, Lynn, Rhonda, all of whom to which she was a second mother; as well as many grandnephews and nieces. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Don Hollohan and Don McDonald.
Besides her parents, Ursula was predeceased by brothers, Michael, Ted, Vincent; sisters, Inez Hollohan and Phyllis McDonald; brother-in-law, Steven McDougall; sister-in-law, Kathleen McInnis.
Visitation will be held today (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Holy Family Church with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in Holy Family/St. Joseph parish cemetery.
Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made in Ursula's name to Holy Family/St. Joseph's parish cemetery fund.
