It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of John A. Parks, 45, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in North Sydney, John was the son of Marie (Parks) MacLeod and Alexander Oickle.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. John worked in construction industry and also loved working on cars and took great pleasure in helping his kids in sports.
Besides his mother and father, he is survived by his wife, Christina Parks; his children, Brianna Parks, Dylan Alexander Parks, Stephanie Timbury, Christopher Timbury and John Timbury, and a grandson, Ryder; his stepfather, Thomas MacLeod and step-grandmother, Alena MacLeod; sisters, Tanya Oickle, Crystal (Matthew) Melvin and brother, Jamie Parks.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, John Bernard Parks, great-grandmother, Lavina Parks and special aunt, Loretta Parks.
Visitation for John will be held today (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
