Jeanne Arsenault (nee Gallant)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Arsenault (nee Gallant) peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, on Friday, August 24, 2012, two weeks shy of her 89th birthday.
Jeanne was formerly of Abrams Village and currently residing in St. Philippe.
Jeanne was the daughter of the late Aubin Gallant and Sylvina Gallant (nee Bernard). Born on September 4, 1923 in Abrams Village, Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband Felix ¨the cat¨ Arsenault, and is survived by her loving children, Jeannita Bernard (Marcel) of St. Philippe who also provided special care to Jeanne during her final years, Amand Arsenault (Joanne) of Union Corner, Donna Barnes (Leslie) of Charlottetown and Louis Arsenault (Carolle) of Rexton, N.B. She was the special grandmother to Serge, Ghislain, Caroline, Lucien, Denis, Janelle, Charles, Philip, Alex, Erik and Jacob as well as great-grandmother to André and Riel.
Jeanne was predeceased by sisters, Aline (Adelard), Nelida (Leo); brothers, Edgar, Amand, Theodore (Julianne), Alfred; and brother in infancy, Amand.
She is survived by sisters, Eliza (Euclide), Leona (Adolphe); and brothers, Leo (Stella, deceased), Matt, Norman, Paul (Theresa), Eric (Anna); and sisters-in-law, Cecile, Louise, Laura, Imelda; and brother-in-law, Edmond.
Jeanne loved life and especially cherished all the special moments shared with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have met her and touched many lives during her 89 years amongst us.
Visitation at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, for funeral mass on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Evangeline Funeral Building Fund would be appreciated.
