WAHL, JOHN LESSLIE - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Dr. John Lesslie Wahl. John passed away at the hospital on August 25, 2012 at the age of 64 with his devoted wife by his side. John was born on December 1, 1947 in Sackville, New Brunswick to the late William George and Kate Wahl. John studied at the Colorado School of Mines and completed his Bachelor of Science degree and the PhD program at the University of New Brunswick. In addition to John's successful career he enjoyed travelling and working with his hands. However, his immeasurable love for his family was always his first priority. John is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Wahl; his son, Michael (Leona) Wahl; his daughter, Laura (Mark) Hunter; his grandchildren, Mason and Avery Hunter; his older brother, David (Peggy) Wahl; his younger sister, Kate Ann (Rod) Follwell; cousins, Trudy (Lynn) Mitchell, Barbara Wahl, Janice (Tom) Ivory, Bill (Cathy) Wassberg, Chuck (Bev) Wassberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, New Brunswick on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will take place at the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice. A special thank you is extended to the DECH Oncology team, the nurses of the Extra Mural Program and the pharmacy staff at the Lawtons Drugs on Brookside Drive.
