Gloria MacLean of 233 Legatto St., Sydney Mines, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Louise MacLean (Jardine) and the late John MacLean.
She is survived by her brother, George (Vivian) MacLean; her sisters, Sarah (John D.) Rose, Elizabeth (John) Chislett, Louise MacLean and her son, Freddie MacLean.
She will be sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Rita, Helen, Dorothy and Debbie MacLean, and her brothers, Howard, Bob, Tony, Ervin, John Thomas, James and Leonard.
Gloria lived with her sister Sarah for the past 35 years, after the passing of her mother. She will be missed by those who considered her a second mother, Paula Rose (Harris), Art (Cathy) Rose, Susan Rose, Bonnie Rose (Chris) and Dorothy (Freddy) Fraser.
A special thanks to all the nurses at the Northside General Hospital, the VON and home-care workers, Dr. McKeough and all the other doctors for all the love and care over the years.
Gloria was our angel and was like a mother to her nieces and nephew. We affectionately called her Yiya.
Special thanks as well to all her bingo buddies.
Visitation today (Monday), 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
