WILKINS, KIMBERLEY ANN - Quispamsis, NB and Labrador City - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kimberley Ann Wilkins announces her peaceful passing on August 27, 2012, at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, NS surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pugwash, Nova Scotia on September 17, 1962 she was the beloved daughter of the late Roger Colborne and Joan Colborne (Demings). Like her father, Kim was an avid gardener. She possessed a unique talent for decorating her home both inside and out; it was a place of warmth and comfort where friends and family were always welcomed and frequently gathered. Her love and generosity to those around her was second to none and she held her family, friends and co-workers in the highest regard. Kim was anxiously awaiting the extension of her family with the expected arrival of her first grandchild in December. Kim is survived by her husband, Paul Wilkins; daughter, Julia Kolanko (Mark); stepdaughters, Courtney and Shelby Wilkins; her mother, Joan Colborne; five siblings, Billy Colborne (Pam), Bonny Smith (Danny), Becky Colborne (Bill), Bruce Colborne (Tracey), Colin Colborne (Amanda); mother and father-in-law, Betty and Douglas Wilkins; several brothers and sisters-in-law; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large number of close friends. Besides her grandparents, Kim was predeceased by her father, Rodger Colborne; uncle, Glenn Colborne; aunts, Julia Sisson (Demings), and Lila Hollis (Demings).
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 am.
