DAHL: Joseph Gerald "Jerry" Dahl - January 12, 1946 - August 9, 2012. It is with great sadness that Jerry Dahl of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully with family by his side in Saskatoon University Hospital on Thursday, August 9, 2012. Jerry was born and raised in Swift Current. He is survived by his wife Nancy of 25 years, daughters Josie (Mike) and their children Dryden and Tristen; Shvonne (Brian) and their children Veronica, Maggie, and Eve; and Vanessa (Len) and their child Shayden; stepson Allen Cooledge (children Brianna), and stepdaughter Tracey Cormier (children Matthieu and Ella), brothers Doug (Marlene), Marvin (Brenda), Harvey (Marlene), Richard, Neil (Mona), Dennis (Kathy), and his sisters Mary (Wayne), and Shirley. He also is survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, mother-in-law Doreen and father-in-law Ken Schreiner, as well as well numerous other in-laws. Jerry is predeceased by his mother May and step-father Jim Dahl, nephew Mitchell Dahl, and aunt Alma Dahl, as well as numerous aunts, and uncles. Jerry was a hard worker who worked in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. He loved reading western pocket novels, playing darts, cooking, the outdoors, fishing, roofing, farming, or just tinkering in his garage. He loved spending time with his family around his backyard fire pit. He is known for his quick wit, and willingness to always lend a hand. Jerry was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 56 for many years. Jerry had a 20 plus year battle with cancer. A memorial gathering will be planned for Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall from 1 until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Royal University Hospital ICU, the Swift Current Legion, The Palliser Regional Care Centre, or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Jerry.
