Janet passed peacefully at the Charles LeMoyne Hospital. Janet was born in Liverpool, N.S. and raised in Shelburne, N.S. Predeceased by parents, Creighton and Margaret Hipson (Falt). Survived by husband, Yvan; brother, Leslie; niece, Shelly; nephew, Alan; grand-nieces and grandnephew, cousins, friends and her canine pals, Toby and Timmy. Janet came to Quebec to study at Macdonald College for Teachers, then later received her Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University. Having taught for over 34 years in the Richelieu Valley and St. Bruno areas, she touched the lives and hearts of many. A devoted member of the Mount Bruno United Church, Janet served on the Executive of the Church’s Women’s Unit D for many years. A memorial service, in the presence of ashes, took place at Mount Bruno United Church on August 23, 2012 with Reverend R. Jennings officiating. As per Janet’s wishes, her ashes will be laid to rest in Nova Scotia at a later date. A special thanks to the team at Centre de Montarville for providing Janet with such kind, loving care.
