Always in our hearts, Camilla Elaine Finley, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre with her family by her side.
Born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Annie (Wilson) Field. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Norman and daughter Dianne.
Camilla was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amherst. She was a landlord for many years and took pride in maintaining her properties. Camilla was a very active person and could always be found working at something.
Camilla worked for Paul's Children's Store, Bernick's Ladies Wear, and took early retirement from Northern Telecom after several years of service. Her favorite place to be was her cottage in Linden.
Camilla is survived by her daughter Eloise (Brian) Allen, Amherst; two granddaughters, Sandy (Dana) DeMings and Laurie Phalen; one grandson Patrick (Stephanie) Allen; four great grandchildren; Kieran, Levi, Liam, and Quinn; and nephews, Russell, Edward and Austin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Friday from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2 pm, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
