Hazel Fisher

Hazel Iva Fisher age 88 of Amherst passed away Saturday morning, September 8, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 4, 1923 in Chignecto NS, she was a daughter of the late Eldred and Eva (Teed) Lowther.
Hazel worked at the Highland View Regional Hospital as an EKG Technician for 17 years. She was also active with the Salvation Army for 35 years, where she served as the pianist.
Hazel will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her daughter, Margaret (Robert) Sears, Amherst; sons, Thomas, Amherst and Kenneth (Debra), Warren; step sisters, Marjorie (Glendon) Spicer, New Glasgow NS, and Joyce (Henderson) Allen, Halifax NS; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Earl; son, Michael; daughter in law, Jean Fisher; grandson, Matthew Earl Fisher; brothers, Lauren, Robert, and Trueman; step brother, Kenneth Lowther; step sisters, Eleanor Greer, Beverly Snook and Shirley Watters.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906), from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Reception will be held in the funeral home. Following cremation, interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Hazel’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre or charity of your choice.
