Ed Noonan, age 83 of Amherst, passed away unexpectedly at home with his wife by his side, on Friday, September 7, 2012. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Norman and Etta (Atkinson) Noonan.
Ed enjoyed spending time with family and numerous friends, and especially enjoyed Saturday nights cheering on the local hockey team, the Amherst Ramblers.
Ed will be sadly missed by his wife, Dolores Noonan; children, Stephen (Diane) Noonan of Campbellville, ON, Michael Noonan of London, ON, Peter (Paul Zamperin) Noonan of Toronto, ON; stepchildren, Lorraine (Chris) Field, Keith (Karen) Kendall, Terry (Theresa) Kendall and Brian (Anne) Kendall; sisters, Wanda Livingstone, Lorna Smith and Sharon Smith; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his daughter, Lenora Noonan; stepdaughter, Cheryl Kendall; and brother, Bill Noonan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). Visitation held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11 AM at Christ Church, Amherst with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association would be greatly appreciated.
