It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of William MacDonald of Columbia Street, Sydney, who passed away peacefully, at home, on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Dan B. and Margaret (MacDonald) MacDonald.
William was employed in the Blast Furnace Department at Sydney Steel, retiring after 47 years of service.
He will be sadly missed by his five children, Daniel and Lloyd, at home, Nancy (John R.) MacPhail, South Bar, Mary Ann, Fredericton and Margaret (Paul Williams), Sydney.
William was predeceased by his wife, Mary Katherine (MacLeod); sister, Isabel and brothers, Angus and Roderick.
There will be no visitation. A private family service and interment at Hardwood Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date.
