On Thursday, September 13, 2012, this world lost a great light and heaven gained a faithful son. David Paul Harris left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Predeceased by his father Elmer. Leaving to celebrate his life and mourn the loss are his wife, Joanne (née Hodder); two daughters, who were his light and joy, Laura and Danielle; mother, Joan Harris; brother Stephen (Gillian); nieces Rachel and Rebecca; nephews, Andrew and Jonathan; parents-in-law, Leslie and Arlene Hodder; brothers-in-law, Jim (Sharon); Doug (Colleen); Bob (Sheila); nephew Ryan; niece Heather; many dear and well loved aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as a wide circle of friends, and colleagues at Nalcor. Dave was a dedicated husband and loving father, who adored his wife and two daughters. He was generous with his love, his encouragement and in uplifting others. He was a constant source of insight, wisdom and encouragement to those around him. Dave’s incredible sense of humour brought laughter and joy to all he met. Everyone who was blessed to have known him will stand forever in the glow of a life lived with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. The light of Dave’s life knows no bounds and extends to eternity. Dave had a wide circle of contact and influence and he treated each person as part of his extended family. We are so thankful for all the love, support and kindness shown to our family. A service honouring Dave’s memory will be held Monday, September 17, 10 a.m., at Bethesda Pentecostal Church on MacDonald Drive, where Dave was an active member, volunteer and leader.
