Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at age 76. Predeceased by his wife Pearl in 2005, parents Levi and Miriam, and sister Rita Gunson. Leaving to mourn his loving daughter Cindy Smith ( Scott) and very special granddaughter Jennifer who he treasured dearly; sisters; Rowena Butler (Harris) and Shirley Peddle Kelly (John); sisters-in-law: Marcie Banfield (George), Winnie Strong (Angus), Louise Strickland (Frank), Marie Pardy (Ray), and Bonnie Carpenter Nolan (Jack); brothers-in-law: Joe Carpenter (Mary), and Bruce Carpenter (Sharon); also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends especially Pearl Smith, Randy Smith, Roger, Sharon , Laura & Mark Warren who were like extended family and always welcomed Harvey into their homes. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mt. Pearl, on Monday, September 17th, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, September 18th, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Barrett's Chapel on Wednesday, September 19th at 2:00pm.
