The death occurred peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, of J. Henry Gallant, of Summerside, aged 90 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in St. Gilbert, he was the son of the late Belonie and Justine (Arsenault) Gallant. Survived by his wife Theresa (McGaughey) Gallant; children Jean (Neil) Selinger, Guelph, Ont.; Carol Gallant, Summerside; Henry (Nancy) Gallant, Summerside; Bonita Gallant (Allen Glover), Summerside; Cheryl (Eric) Arsenault, Summerside; Theresa (Paul) Cousins, Kensington; Arlene (Noel) Gallant, Wellington; Christine (Peter) Gallant, Lower New Annan; Gerard (Carolyn) Gallant, Montreal, Que.; Sarah (Steven) Watts, Hampton; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Alyre (Mary) Gallant, Summerside; sister Marie Young, Winnipeg, MB; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son James Henry in infancy and by his first wife Beryl (Wallace) Gallant. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the IWK Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated. Members of the Dr. W.E. Callaghan Council 2070 will hold a prayer service at the funeral home at 3:45 p.m. Members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Thursday at 6:45 p.m. www.moase.ca
