TURNER, Stanley Wallace “Stan” – 83, Kemptown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday morning, September 27, 2012, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born March 16, 1929, in Shan Creek, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the late George and Winnifred (Routledge) Wallace and stepson of the late Albert Turner. Stan was a member of Kemptown United Church until its closing and currently attended Valley United Church. He worked for many years in the Production Department at Truro Daily News and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Stan is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Leora Wilma (Totten); daughter, Norma Shaw, River Hebert; grandchildren, Nick Shaw, Bonita (Todd) Mills; great grandchildren, Courtney Mills, Geoffrey Mills. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012, Reverend Leander Mills officiating. Reception will follow. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Stan’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
