Brian Eric Cochrane, age 55, of Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth and formerly of Brooklyn, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Windsor Elms Village, where he had been a resident since March 2011. Brian was born on December 29, 1956, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, and was the elder son of Gerald Eric Cochrane, Brooklyn and the late Beverly Ann (Taylor) Cochrane. Brian was employed by Fundy Gypsum Company, Miller Creek, as a heavy duty mechanic for approximately 27 years, since the age of 17 and retired in 1997. Brian had a great love for fishing, camping, music and most of all while he was still able, he enjoyed his granddaughters, taking them for bicycle rides, playing in the park and watching a good Toronto Maple Leafs game. He is survived by his father, Eric (Kathy) Cochrane, Brooklyn; daughter, Stephanie Ann Cochrane, Garlands Crossing, Hants County; granddaughters, Emma Ann Lawrence and Erika Lyndell Lawrence, at home. He is also survived by brother, Martin (Paula) Cochrane, Windsor; sisters, Patricia (Bill) Ward, Windsor; Marlene (John) Doolan, Kingston, Ontario; his newest family at the Windsor Elms; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, Beverly Ann (Taylor) Cochrane; he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Shelly Lyndell Cochrane. The family, wish to thank the Windsor Elms Village for their loving care of Brian, as well as the Hants Community Hospital, Unit 500 staff and Dr. Cathryn Smith. There was no visitation by request. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor. Interment was at the Riverview Haven Cemetery, Union Corner, Hants County. No flowers by request.
