It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garland Simms of St. Anthony, NL, announce his passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Sept. 28, 2012 at the age of 89 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his four sons Terry (Pansy), Randy, Linzie (Jennifer), and Greg (Darlene); nine grandchildren Trevor (Paula), Petrina (Frank), Terri-Lynn (Robbie), Clay (Sheila), Krista, Roland, Colby, Neil and Sean; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law George Pilgrim; and sisters-in-law Maisie Morgans (Morgan) and Rita Hussey (Dick). He was predeceased by his wife Verna, parents Hayward and Susie, sister Mary Ann and brothers Roland and Clayton. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Burial followed at the United Cemetery on Fishing Point. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
