KLASSEN, Anne, age 94 years, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility, Herbert, SK. Anne was born to Peter & Marie Schellenberg at 16-16-9 W3 (7 miles southeast of Herbert) on July 9, 1918. Anne married Herman Neufeld on March 7, 1943 at the Greenfarm Church. This union was blessed with three children: Stan, Joyce and Garry. After selling the family farm they moved to Herbert where she was actively involved in the church, MCC Ladies Auxiliary, New Horizons, Train Station and anywhere else a helping hand was needed. Anne was predeceased by her first husband, Herman Neufeld on January 24, 1984; her second husband, Herman Klassen on January 7, 2003; her son-in-law, Don Gannon; her sister, Tina; her brothers-in-law, Bob and Jack; and by all the in-laws on the Neufeld side. Anne is survived by her children, Stan (Evelyn) Neufeld, Joyce (Owen) Gannon and Garry (Maggie) Neufeld; her four grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; her brothers, John (Kay) and Eldo; her sisters, Mary (Pete), Agnes (Lionel) and Helen; by the Klassen family, Verna, Alan, Myra and their spouses and families, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks go to Dr. Kassett and the staff at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility, the Heritage Manor and many others who helped her during her life’s journey. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the Mennonite Brethren Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Kirk Ehrhart officiating. The pianist for the service was Ruth Newton with special music, “One Day at a Time” sung by the Klassen Family as well as “Amazing Grace” on CD. The life history (written by Anne Klassen) and tributes were read by Myra Zacharias. The ushers in the church were Ray Wiebe and Alfred Thiessen. The Interment Service preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with the Family serving as pallbearers. In memory of Anne Klassen, donations made to the MCC, 600 -45th St W., Saskatoon, SK, S7L 5W9 would be appreciated by the family.
