Lois Hannis (nee Bain) of Kamloops passed away on October 5, 2012 at 77 years of age.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Donna (John) Kennedy of Gwynne, AB, Gary Hannis of Kamloops, B.C., Wayne Hannis of Wetaskiwin, AB, grandchildren Caghan (Adam) Perrin, Stephen, Shaine and Charlie, great grandchildren Tristan, Craig and Damean, sisters and brothers; Florence, William, Jacqueline, John, Josephine, Richard and Veronice.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim Hannis and brothers Bill and Dexter.

Lois was born in Barrie, Ontario in 1934. She was from the graduating class of 1957 Royal Victoria Order of Nursing at Barrie, Ontario. She nursed in Toronto, Ontario and then in Calgary, Alberta where she met Jim Hannis. They were united in marriage on 10th of June, 1961. They eventually moved to Kamloops where Jim had grown up. Lois gave birth to their first child Donna in 1965, Gary in 1967 and Wayne in 1969. Lois and Jim moved around the area for the next 25 years but settled back in Kamloops in 1994 where Jim passed away. This started a new life for Lois. She had grown up as an only child with her adopted family and in 1996 her birth family found her. She moved back to Barrie, Ontario for six years then she moved back west to live closer to her kids. Over the last two years Lois put up a fight against cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Warren Trenholm officiating.

Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
