CRONKHITE, MARY CHRISTMAS - Mary C. Cronkhite of Nackawic, NB, wife of the late Donald S. Cronkhite, passed away October 16, 2012 at Thomas Hall in Fredericton, NB at the age of 102. Mary was born on December 25, 1909 in Temple, NB, a daughter of the late Lot and Thirza (Grant) Grant. Mary taught school in rural NB schools for twenty-two years. She loved her family and enjoyed keeping in touch with them. Mary was an honorary member of the Kirk United Church. She is survived by two sons, John Cronkhite (Shirley), Edmonton, AB and Andrew Cronkhite, Nackawic, NB; three grandchildren, Courtney Cronkhite, Edmonton, AB, Donald Cronkhite (Andrea) and their children, Katlyn, Matthew and Nathaniel, Andrew Jr. Cronkhite (Natasha) and their children, Abrianna and Seporah; both of Temperance Vale, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by six sisters, Leah, Elva, Bessie, Susie, Iva and Rowena; three brothers, Walter, Sheridan and Sherman Grant.
Although there will be no visiting hours, friends are welcome to attend the funeral service to be held at Kirk United Church, 29 Landegger Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jennifer Brown officiating. Interment at Otis Cemetery. A reception will then follow at Flewelling Funeral Home reception room, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB. Pallbearers will be David Cronkhite, Danny Cronkhite, Jock Cronkhite, son, Andrew Cronkhite, grandsons, Andrew Jr. Cronkhite and Donald Cronkhite.
