Kayward Dart

Passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, Kayward Dart, age 82 years of Lewisporte. Kayward leaves to mourn Ethel, his wife of 50 years and daughters Valerie (Earl Tulk) Dart, Trudy (Melvin) Everett and Kim (Colin) Matheson, his grandchildren Taylor, Emily, Katie, Jenna, Christopher and Ryan - will forever treasure their memories of him. Kayward also leaves behind his brother Chesley and sister Dot and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will dearly miss his laugh. We take comfort in knowing that Kayward's grandson Matthew, parents Ida and Archibald and siblings Phoebe, Grover, Garfield, Cosetta, Verna and Mildred were there to welcome him to Heaven. Reverends Calvin Ginn and Arthur Elliott conducted the Funeral Service on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 from St. Matthew’s United Church, Lewisporte. The interment followed from the United Church Cemetery. We are very thankful to have been blessed with such a strong and loving husband, dad, grandad, brother, and uncle. He lived with integrity, loved us endlessly and worked so hard to make sure his loved ones were taken care of. He adored his family, especially his grandkids, cherished his walks around the pond, and blessed us everyday with his joyful, hearty laugh. That he passed on Thanksgiving Sunday is such a fitting tribute to who he was and how he lived. He was content with the simple blessings of life and was so thankful, "I don't need a thing in the world, not a thing". Dad, with heavy, broken hearts we honour you as you return to our Heavenly Father. We take comfort in knowing that you are no longer in pain, no longer suffering and that you now rest in the arms of the Lord. Just as you did, we promise to live thankfully, laugh joyfully and take care of each other. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lung Association will be gratefully accepted.
