DRABINASTY – Josephine. On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, Josephine passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years. Josephine was born on June 28, 1912 at Alvena, SK. the second youngest of 11 children. She grew up on the family homestead knowing the pioneer way of life. In 1930, she married Peter Drabinasty. During World War II they moved to Barrie, ON where Peter was stationed at Camp Borden. In 1946, they returned to Saskatchewan and started farming in the Weldon District until their semi-retirement to Prince Albert in 1965. Josephine remained in her home until the age of 84, when she moved to Carment Court. For the past four years, she has resided with her daughter. Josephine was a loving, kind, industrious person. She was very creative, and expert homemaker but most of all, devoted to her family and deep faith. She is survived by her son, Richard (Marisa) of Prince George, BC; daughter, Patricia of Prince Albert; grandchildren, Wanette, Pamela, Jeffrey, Lisa, Angela, Kurtis, Shawn, Cindy and Tyson; great grandchildren, Noelle, Michael, Jarret, Amanda, Brittany, Brooklyn, Bailey and Kaya; and daughter-in-law, Betty. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Patronella (Miller) Yablonski; her husband, Peter in 1969; her daughter, Alexandra (Sandra) in 1990; her son, John in 1994; her son, Philip in 2002; her brothers and sisters, Anton, Walter, Benjamin, Michael, Joseph, John, Genevieve (Jenny), Veronica, Julia and Mary; grandchildren, Andrea (in infancy) and Michael Richard. We will miss you Mom, but are thankful for the years you enriched our lives in so many ways. A special “thank you” to Nurse Practioner, Holly Young, Home Care Palliative Care Nurse, Michelle and Father Ivan Nahachewsky. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 770 14th St. West, Prince Albert, SK.
