Patricia Murray

MURRAY, PATRICIA "PAT" - Patricia Murray passed away at her home in Fredericton on the early morning of Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the age of 88. She had been under the care of two attentive doctors, extra mural and home care professionals all of whom made her feel very special. She passed peacefully during a prayer and was surrounded by her family, with love and music. She will be truly missed by many. Pat was born in Campbellton, NB as one of the 19 children of David and Isabel Thompson. She is survived by two siblings Mary Corrine (Queenie) Hrenyk and George Thompson both of Ontario. She was a woman of faith and loved her two church families from St. Anthony’s (GlenLevit) and Holy Family (Fredericton). She made friends easily and from all walks of life, never questioning whether she would “fit” in with any gathering. She cared about people, especially those who were unwell or simply alone. Until her recent decline in health, Pat loved to travel and made a strong connection with Ireland. She visited several times and made lifelong friends who stayed in touch while she was unwell. Pat loved her many surviving relatives most of whom have had a meal from her or left a visit with a homemade treat. She knew everything happening in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchild continuing to offer advice, support and love to each of them to the last moment of her life. She was an equal partner in raising six children who survive and grieve her as a huge loss. Lynn (Ray), David (Debbie), Lee, Paula, Mamie (Gerald) and “her baby”, Therese. She was proud of her eight grandchildren Jessica, Alex, Christopher, Jonathan, Emily, Mike, Jennifer and Shannon and would boast their achievements to all who would listen. Her great grandchild, Matayah was a frequent visitor who always brought a smile. Pat and her husband (Paul, deceased in 2001) moved to Fredericton NB to be with their adult children in later years. While making treasured friendships there, Pat never lessened her roots in Glencoe and her love for her community. She will be returning to join Paul for her final rest.
