It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Jean Hurlburt (nee Smith) on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Markham, Ont. Shirley was born in Summerside on May 9, 1927, daughter of the late Margaret (Acorn) and Clifford Smith. She leaves Murray, her beloved husband of 66 years, sons Alan (Jan) and Robbie (Nancy); grandchildren Kelly (Steve), Lindsay, Julie (Ryan), Jenniffer, Ian, William, Darlene and Larry Jr. and seven great-grandchildren. Much loved sister of Eleanor (Benny) Grady, George (Marion) Smith, Joanne (Don) Wright, Kathy (George) Montgomery, Gerald (Terry) Smith. Predeceased by her loving son Larry Hurlburt, sister Margie (Stewart) Grady and Billy Smith. Also mourned by many other members of the Smith/Hurlburt family. Funeral to take place at Marshall Funeral Home, Richmond Hill, Ont. Although Shirley spent the majority of her life in Ontario, P.E.I. was always in her heart!
