It is with deep regret that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Donnie Lewis on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Robert Jedson and Mary (LeBlanc) Lewis.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Angela ‘Angie’ Gouthro and daughter, Santana, siblings, Mary ‘Vina’ O’Neil (Michael Ranni), Howie Centre, Monica (David) Kanchuk, Upper Leitches Creek, Robert, Sydney River, David (Judi), Marion Bridge.
He is also survived by his stepmother, Daphne Winans, South Bar, uncle, Albert (Shirley) Lewis, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Frank; sister-in-law, Ann Lewis; aunts, Thelma Nutt, Judy Cooper; uncles, Edward, William and Walter.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
