It is with great sadness that the family of the late Beatrice Mildred (Sheaves) Squarey announces her passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by husband James Philip Squarey; parents, Reginald and Florence Sheaves and sisters, Maisie Florence Sheaves and Elinor Lydia Sheaves. Leaving to mourn, special friend Harry Pardy, Sr.; children, Arthur (Dianne) Squarey, Paradise, NL, Sharon Squarey (Robert Hyatt), London, ON, Elaine (Willard) Battiste, Port aux Basques, NL, and Joanne (Eric) Matthews, Port aux Basques; grandchildren, Dr. Kyna Squarey (Michael Mitchell), Susan Squarey (Mark Gardberg), Dr. Erin Squarey (David Gibbs), Paul Walters, Craig Walters, Michelle (Jason) Stenton, Janet (Keith) Hyatt, Tanya (Wade) Anderson, Pamela Battiste, Darrell (Leeanne) Matthews and Jamie Matthews; 14 great grandchildren and sisters, Kathleen (Alexander) MacDonald, Florida, USA, Bernice (Roy) Connors, London, ON and Sheila (Austin) Pyke, North Sydney, NS, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Mildred served as an executive member for over 20 years on the CN and Marine Pensioners Association. She was an active member of the Good Samaritan 50+ Club of Isle aux Morts and also served for many years as a representative for seniors on the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Board. Visitation took place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port aux Basques on Oct. 31st from 7-9 p.m. and Nov. 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Nov. 2nd at 11 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Port aux Basques, with Rev. Hannah Dicks officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Hospital Foundation.
