Watson, Reginald Earl “Reg” - 84, Hilden, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012. Reg was born on December 24, 1927. He was a very hard worker who enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an automotive mechanic, whose expertise was sought out and trusted by many. Reg loved his family, vegetable gardening and a good Nova Scotia kitchen party. Music was a big part of his life. He sang and played guitar. He was a member of the John Fisher Choir and Hilden United Church Choir, where he sang for fifty plus years. Reg is survived by Ruth, his loving wife of sixty-four years and his sons Reginald Jr. (Leslie), Grand Cache, AB; Dale (Kim), Glenn (Debbie), both of Truro, and James at home; brothers Harrison, Laurie, Miles and sisters Barbra, Ola, Carrie, Nina and Eleanor . He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Chris, Dannette, Michael, Nicola, Lincoln, Lucas and Declan, and his great grandchildren Allyssa and Nicklos. Reg was predeceased by his parents Chester and Jenny Watson; son Stephen; granddaughter Samantha and brother Vincent .Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, followed by a celebration of Reg’s life beginning at 2:00 p.m. both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Private family interment at Hilden Cemetery. Donations in Reg’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants VON, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
