Diane Lucy (Dinah) Skinner

66 of Riverport passed away peacefully on November 3, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born July 9, 1946 in St. Jacques, N.L. Diane was the daughter of the late Camillus and Agnes (Saint) McCarthy. She was a dedicated mother and wife who enjoyed cooking, knitting socks and mittens and pampering her family. She never let anyone leave her home without a special treat made by her. She was married to the love of her life Lloyd George Skinner for 46 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Brian (Kimberly), Dartmouth, Melvin (Shelly), Pinegrove, Stewart (Tammy), Pinegrove, Joanne (Richard) Crouse, Cole Harbour, Lloyd Jr., Riverport; brother William (Mabel) McCarthy, Grand Falls, N.L.; her grandchildren who she cherished: Colton, Kaileigh, Bailee, Brogan, Alexandra and Josie and many beloved nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers: George and Neil, sisters Blanche and Beatrice. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the South Shore Regional ICU, Victoria General ICU and the Infirmary ICMU. Special thanks to nurses: Rachelle (South Shore) and Amy (Infirmary), your support and care was greatly appreciated. Friends are invited to share their memories of Diane, with her family, during visitation at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3 Lunenburg, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at
St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, Rev. Reginald MacDonald, officiating. Interment will be in Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport.
