ESTABROOKS, BEVERLY - Moncton, NB - Vaughan Beverly Estabrooks, 63, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital after a short illness on Friday, November 9, 2012. Born in Sackville, NB on July 8, 1949, son of the late Vaughan Winthrop Estabrooks and Alice Mae Estabrooks (Smith), Bev was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church in Moncton. Before his retirement, Bev worked at the former Seaside Chevrolet in Shediac, NB as a Transmission Specialist, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Bev enjoyed Nascar, bowling and was deeply involved in the sport of baseball. He spent many years coaching, umpiring and being on the Board of Directors of the Riverview Baseball Association and the Moncton District Minor Baseball Association. He managed the Moncton Jr. Cubs, which saw them go to the Nationals in 2009 and 2010, and he enjoyed scorekeeping and announcing all of their home games. He was also involved with baseball at the High School and University levels. Recently, Bev accompanied the Crandall University baseball team in Ottawa at the University Nationals. Bev is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy; his children, Tanya Estabrooks (Charles Cseppento), Scott Estabrooks (Carrie) and Rob Estabrooks (Ashley Frizzell); granddaughters, Rebecca, Sydney and Madison; brother Doug Estabrooks (Marie); sisters Judy Duff (Jack), Patricia Smith, Arlene Estabrooks, and Sue Wilson (Terry); brother-in-law Robert Palmer (Brenda), as well as several nieces and nephews.
In honour of Bev, a Celebration of Life will be held in the Garden Room at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm. At Bev’s request there will be no visiting hours.
