CARPENTER, DAVID ALLISON - David Carpenter, loving husband to Doreen (Lounsbury/Worden) of 14 years, of Westfield, NB passed away peacefully at Saint John Regional Hospital on November 13, 2012. Born on July 19, 1940 in Saint John to the late Ralph and Minnie (Boone) Carpenter. He served his country in Europe with the Air Force from 1958-1963. He then worked as a Steamship Checker at the Port of Saint John and was a proud member of I.L.A. #273, retiring at age 65. In his earlier years he coached Peewee hockey for the Lancaster Minor Hockey Association. After retirement he worked for the Corps of Commissionaires. David enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening as well as spending time with his wife and family along with his two Boston Terriers, Minnie-me and Rocky and cat Pepper. Many recognize David as the owner of Carp’s Septic System. In addition to his loving wife, David is survived by step-children Kevin (Brenda) Worden of Brown’s Flat, Kirk (Dorothy) Worden of Fredericton, Chad (Aimee) Worden of Edmonton, Crystal (David) Hill of Westfield and Michael (Debbie) Worden of Lethbridge, AB; sons Scott of Dryden, ON, Robert of Vancouver, BC and David of Edmonton; brothers Ralph (Sharon) and Kelly (Kathy Ann) of Saint John; sisters Mary Danaher of Rothesay, Patricia Carpenter of Vancouver, Roberta Whitcomb (Richard) and Mary-Ellen “Honey” Carpenter of Saint John; Aunt Hay and cousins Jenny and Tony of Ottawa and Allan (Pat) Boone of Grand Bay-Westfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday, November 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. A legion service will take place at 7 p.m. A celebration of life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 16 at 2:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Reception to be held at Carleton Union Lodge, 270 Charlotte Street West following interment.
